PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® Exam Changes

Article By Amit Kulkarni, PMI-ACP, CSP, CSM, CSPO, Lean-Six-Sigma, PMP, PRINCE2

Sameet Telang becomes my first student to pass PMI-ACP® exam after the exam changes were done on July 15th 2015. So, I retain my record of 100% students passing PMI-ACP® examination until date. Now I want to share my ideas on what has changed in the PMI-ACP® examination from the experience of people who appeared in the last 15 days before the exam changed (test questions)
  • More Case based questions can be seen(more Project Management Professional (PMP)® exam like.
  • Extreme Programming and Lean can have more weightage.
  • Specific questions regarding Extreme Programming roles can appear
  • I think Direct questions on Scrum is a history.
  • More case based questions based on the 12 principles of Agile – more towards understanding the Agile mindset.
What I have already done
  • Introduced a separate domain on Agile Mindset
  • I had already tuned my training to “think Agile” instead of just “use agile tools and techniques”
  • My book was tuned to the PMI-ACP® syllabus as defined in the Exam Content Outline
What changes I will be introducing
  • New Mock Tests to tune to the questions of PMI-ACP® examination – My students who have not yet appeared will be given access at no extra cost
  • Some more focus on XP, TDD, LEAN and KANBAN during the trainings
  • I am increasing the complexity of my exams by 2 notches atleast… Exam is certainly not easy any more
  • You will now have to prepare a bit more than earlier.

EPMC’s first student to pass PMI-ACP® exam after exam changes

Hi Amit,

It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that I cleared the
PMI-ACP® exam. I attempted the revised exam in July and Project Management Institute (PMI)® declared my results after 2 months. I found the exam questions more oriented to practical application.

Your 2 day study sessions and mock exams were very helpful and I highly recommend your classes to anyone who is interested in doing
PMI-ACP® .

Thank & Regards,
Sameet Telang
